Novice Group
Requirements for Novice
Group: Swim 25 yds safely on back or front
Practices: 10 week session-2 days per week, (60 minutes)
Meets: 1 dual, if prepared
Skills to Master:
*Streamlining, Body Position, and Water
Awareness
*Basic form of 4 competitive strokes
*Flipturns and open turns
*Diving start
*Understand training group rules
*Learn basic Drill list
Mesh equipment bag: Fins, kickboard, water bottle
Bronze
Requirements for Bronze Group:
Practices: 3-5 per week, M - F (1.5 hours)
Meets: 4 dual/invites per season
Skills:
*Use of proper streamline body position
*Ability to swim each stroke proficiently
*Racing Starts
*Able to read the pace clock
*Mastery of Bronze Drill list
Mesh equipment bag: Fins, kickboard, small pull buoy, water
bottle,
11 & under: Red Strokemaker paddles, 12
& over: Green Strokemaker paddles
Silver
Requirements for Silver
Group:
Practices: 3-5 per week, M - S (1.5 hours)
Meets: 4 dual/invites per season
Skills:
*Use of proper streamline body position
*Ability to swim each stroke proficiently
*Relay Start
*Understanding of interval training
*Mastery of Silver Drill list
Mesh equipment bag: Fins, kickboard, small pull buoy, water
bottle,
11 & under: Red Strokemaker paddles, 12
& over: Green Strokemaker paddles
Gold
Requirements for Gold Group:
Practices: 4-6 per week, M - S (1.5 hours)
Meets: 75% dual/invites, all championships if qualified
Skills:
*Use of proper streamline body position
*Ability to swim each stroke competitively
*Relay Starts
*Understanding of interval training
*Knowledge of all stroke rules
*Mastery of Gold Drill list
Mesh equipment Bag: Hydro Finz or Speedo Split Fins, kickboard, small pull buoy,
11 & under: Red Strokemaker Paddles, 12
& over: Green Strokemaker Paddles,
Stretch cord tubing, Bungee cord

Senior Development
Requirements for Senior Development
Group:
Practices: 4-6 per week, M - S (2 hours)
Meets: 75% dual/invites, all championships if qualified
Skills:
*Able to improve stroke technique and more
intense training
*Ability to swim each stroke competitively
*Intrinsic motivation
*Attendance 5 times per week minimum
*Knowledge of proper race pacing
*Negative Splitting
*Mastery Age Group Elite drills
Mesh equipment Bag: Hydro Finz or Speedo Split Fins, kickboard, small pull buoy,
11 & under: Red Strokemaker Paddles, 12
& over: Green Strokemaker Paddles,

Senior
Requirements for Senior Team:
High School Age
Practices: 4-6 per week, M - S (2 hours)
Meets: 2 dual/invites, all championships if qualified

All previous group requirements
100% use of Log Book
Compete in all events in Age Group
National Team
The
National Team is composed of Swim Indy's most elite athletes. In order to
become a member of the National Team, a National Time standard (Senior
National or Sectional cut) must be obtained and the swimmer must sign the
Practice Agreement.
Skills:
Any USA Swimming Sectional Cut
100% use of Log Book
Minimum of 80% practice attendance
Compete in all events in Age Group
