2006 Short Course Championship Meet SummaryDivisionals In addition to running a quality meet, we had lots of fast swimming over the Divisional weekend. Leading the way was Eric Waggoner. Eric raced in five events at the meet (50, 100, 200 and 500 Free; 100 Back), and left with five new Age Group State cuts! Way to go Eric! Also making an Age Group State cut was Vince Partlow, whose time in the 200 IM gave him his fourth state cut. Two Cyclones also made cuts for Senior State. Chris Hammer qualified in the 400 IM and Adel Marte in the 50 Free. Way to go Cyclones, for a strong performance in our home pool at Divisionals! Senior State Our senior athletes kept up the fast swimming from Divisionals at Senior State this past weekend at IUPUI. The meet was super fast this year, featuring big squads from Indiana and Purdue University, as well as the fastest high school swimmers in the state. But the Cyclones turned in several noteworthy swims. David Birrer swam a lifetime best in the 200 Fly (1:59.47) which qualified him for the Speedo Sectional Championships. Zach Phillips qualified for finals in the 100 Back and finished 18th overall (53.33), also a Speedo Sectional cut. And Heather Partlow made her Age Group State cut in the 100 Freestyle (57.20) while leading off Swim INDY’s 400 Free Relay. Great job Cyclone seniors! Carmel Meet While the seniors were racing at IUPUI, many of our younger swimmers took to the pool at the Carmel Swim Club “Maui Madness” meet. There were many fast swims and also worth pointing out is that several of our young swimmers represented the Cyclones for the first time at the meet! Special congratulations to Diego La Torre, Riley Koester and Drew Groth on their first races as a Cyclone! Age Group State One last meet to go this season, the Age Group State Championships at IUPUI! This is a fast meet and an exciting meet, and a big accomplishment for our young swimmers. Congratulations to all of our Age Group State qualifiers: Madison Jones, Clayton Morris, Ryan Page, Heather Partlow, Vince Partlow, Ryan Smiley, Eric Waggoner and Jared Woodings. Our team entry file and meet information is posted on the club website.
